Apologies all for the delay in getting images across to you this week!
The reason behind the delay is that I have had an immense amount of work these last few weeks – agility shows, weddings and other events – and I have taken in excess of 20,000 frames which, as I am sure you can imagine, has taken some time to process. As well as this, I’ve found my website hosting company has limited the number of files I can hold on the webspace I buy through them. Although the volume is unlimited, the number of files is capped at a meagre 262,000. While this sounds a lot, consider the fact that when I upload an image, WordPress (the software that runs the website) and associated plugins create additional images – 9 to be precise. Multiply that by 2,000, an average number for an agility show, and you will see that number rapidly increases.
This practice of limiting the number of files is nothing uncommon across hosting companies and it comes under the ‘fair usage policies’ small-print and the like. Of course, paying more means you can get more but you’re then paying for far more performance that you need for a website like mine and I can’t afford that. Thus, the solution is to host the website myself and I will be setting this up soon. This means there’ll be some downtime for a short while but I hope to keep disruption to a minimum.
Thanks for your understanding and thanks for all the comments on Facebook!
